Three cultures got help in order to melt into one. (From a Kolding Weekly Paper). After a number of meetings a program was put together by consultant Lise Flensburg. By training in work-shops the personnel was helped to see a common future in the new nursing home. The staff was, among other things, asked to paint a picture symbolizing that they were working together, write a song of 12 verses describing everyday work in the new center, and decorate a suitcase as a symbol of their journey into a new future together.
The personnel also had the opportunity to sit together in a room and formulate questions to and get answers from their leaders of the new work place. Subsequently the personnel met again and this time the theme was positive work identity and psychological capital. It has been agreed to arrange a follow-up where a deeper discussion of the meaning of work based on Positive Psychology will take place.
Testimonials
Family carers in Kolding use Lise during 2018 as teacher in a comprehensive course on neuro pedagogy and positive psychology.
The days have been used as whole and half days of training, when foster parents in small teams have had good opportunity to be taught and to work on their challenges together with Lise. We consultants on family care are very satisfied and our foster families are also giving very positive reports. Lise is able to communicate difficult problems and make them understandable for us.
“Now when I have knowledge, and know how I can use myself in this co-operation – it has changed from insecurity to an exciting task.”
